These ruins were not well maintained, and just not impressive. It appears that they are working to make this site better, but for now, it's just not worth the stop. Especially since it's a bit off the beaten track, the drive to see this isn't a worthwhile investment. Spend more time in Coimbra or head up to Bussaco rather than stopping here.

Wow. I couldn't disagree more-- I really liked my visit to Conimbriga and found the ruins fascinating. The mosaics were gorgeous, and like much of Portugal, the lack of supervision and infrastructure appealed to me-- it allows deeper investigation and less curated experiences.
