After a sleepless overnight flight from Kathmandu to Vienna, we found our flight to Rome was delayed.  We holed up in a cafe, ordered a massive breakfast and played canasta until a breathless flight attendant ran in and said "Going to Rome?  We're waiting for you on the plane!"  We hadn't heard the message, so we hopped on to be greeted by impatient glares only to sit there for another hour in the stifling heat while they tried to fix the air-conditioning.  Finally got to Rome 5 hours later than planned and hopped on a train and head straight to Monterosso to be greeted at the train station by Cameron.  He took us through the gorgeous winding cobbled streets to an apartment they were renting for a couple days and there we found Alice and Anna.  After a bit of wine, cheese and catching up we head out to have dinner at a cheap yet delicious pizzeria.  Had a little too much wine and stayed there till midnight when they closed and went back to the apartment where all 5 of us shared a bedroom.  Woke up to some loud Queenslanders outside on the street and the landlord doing the washing up for us.  Head off to the train station to go to Pisa!
