Still haven't seen any orcs yet? Thought they owned the place.
I'm in queenstown aren't I! But prior to that I was literally having a ball in Christchurch. No, no, no i wasn't. Christchurch is pretty much the adelaide of N.Z. Not as bad as i'm probably making it out to be, but with no transport, mates, money or a sense of what the hell i'm doing, Christchurch wasn't too appealing to me. I'ts pretty nice really and SAFE, which everyone tells me about the place all the time. Yeah, safety is the key for traveling- always.
Was alright though really, i'm probably just a boring gimp. I needed a little bit of r and r, from binging pretty much all the way up the east coast. My highlight up there was probably catching the cable car up to the hills, which did show off some pretty stunning views. That was a treat actually. What am i talking about, i bloody love Christchurch.
The weather knocked me back a little bit- no singlets and little shorts for a little while now. Also i'm not sure on the accent of the kiwi's. Can't pronounce their e's and t's properly. It's not that hard?? however, i'm definitely not going to tell that to a massive mauri (there pretty stonking).
Officially my trip of N.Z kicked off when my good friend and garying buddy Dom keved his way up to pick me up. Thanks for the ride Dom, little bit gutted about your speeding ticket. But you had loads of other reasons to go to christchurch right?
The drive down to Queenstown was bloody great. I can't big it up enough. Proper lord of the rings country out there. Think i saw gandolf making out with frodo on a side road. I got right picture happy along the way, the lakes are bluer than the sky, and there was snow on the peaks of the southern alps- was loving it.
Wicked drive all the way down to Queenstown. And how sweet is the location of QT it'self? I'll tell you- Yeah, it's pretty nice. Dom has a lovely little set up here, including his house (with balcony overlooking a ridiculously good view; have to be here to appreciate it), bling car and good hook ups, which is perfect for me to come in and take advantage of. Good to see Dominic (and you alice) again. Like a hyper 5 year old boy, he loves ripping around and doing shit all the time, which is pretty encouraging.
Stupid amount of activities going on here, which will keep me and my wallet pretty busy. Skydive (163 metre beast), wakeboard, and rafting are on the top of my priorities for the next couple of weeks.
Have been bmxing a little bit too, which i have missed a bit, and am now crap at. Will persevere. Going for a surf/bmx trip this weekend to Dunedin (2nd biggest city in the world apparently- cheers dom) . So all good..
