The Dolores Alba was perfect for what we wanted. Its around 3k from the ruins at Chichen Itza (and the bus station) - 50 pesos in a taxi.
The hotel will take you to the "hotel entrance" to the ruins for free between 8:30 and 2:30, you have to make your own way back - 50 pesos from the main entrance in a taxi although without your bags etc its probably walkable form the hotel entrance (about 1.5K). They also do a return trip taxi back to the ruins for the evening light show for.... 20 pesos I think.
The hotel is pretty much secluded (theres a big posher hotel opposite where the cenote is) but other than that nothing else close by. This didnt bother us because we were looking for somewhere withe easy access to the ruins and somewhere to chill out.
Dolores Alba was perfect it was 450 pesos a night (45US dollars), rooms were like terraced chalets, large rooms tiled floors, hot water, cable TV - although bixarrely only a few channels and one of them seemed to just have Titanic playing on a loop! There are two pools - a main one by the bar / restaurant and one to the back which was fresh water.
