Photo “the winery had run out of wine!”

We took a bus to Chianti in the morning though it was a bit delayed as we lost Cameron in the train station.  Then we got off at the wrong stop (we'd gone right past Chianti without getting off) and so had to walk back to the little town.  When we got there everything was closed as most businesses close for 1pm-3pm so we decided to kill some time at the slowest serving restaurant ever and try the local cheeses, wine and wild boar.  2 hours later we left and went to the bike shop and hired some kick-ass bikes and set off into the country side to try the local wines at the vineyards.  However, every vineyard we stopped at was closed!  Finally we came to one where there were people, but they said due to a local festival just finishing the winery had run out of wine!  The old man was very nice though and let us taste his metho-flavoured grappa which had a kick to it.  Since we hadn't been able to taste the wine, we sat in the vines and ate the grapes instead.  Anna's ate mouldy red ones and Alice ate green grapes with spiders living in the bunch.  We cycled back to the town, took our bikes back, missed our bus and so spent the hour waiting for the next one giving each other wet willies at the bus station.
