I had my first day of training at Lanna Muay Thai. It seems like a nice gym, but you don't get very much one on one training. They have pretty long workouts however and you get a few rounds of one on one with a trainer. I think I got 4 yesterday & my last two were w/ some trainer that swept me when I was kicking & I fell and rolled my ankle. That was the end of training for me that day. I thought maybe if I slept it would be better in the morning, but I woke up for training & it hurt to move it side to side or to kick with it, but it doesn't hurt to walk on it.
Anyways, I didn't get to train today because of it, so hopefully tomorrow it will be better. There are a lot of fights up here, yesterday I met a guy from camp that goes to school in Kentucky & he leaves this weekend. He is getting school credit for coming here & training, and he had a fight last night. He lost by TKO in 3rd round though, so thats a bummer. He is pretty brave though to get in the ring, he only had 3 weeks of training & has never even trained back home. I didn't go to his fight, but Friday I guess 3 ppl from the camp are going to fight so I'll go to those.
Stuff is so much cheaper up here than down in Phuket. I guess there is a food stand on the other side of the camp that is 20 baht & you get a lot of food. To get your laundry done it is 30 baht & the lady does a really good job with it and will even iron stuff @ no extra charge. Thats about 75 cents, what a deal!
The weather is also a lot nicer up here, last night it was cool enough that I wore pants outside, it was super nice. During the day it is perfect, not too hot or anything. I didn't need a fan on last night either which was sweet.
