Leaving Chian Mai was kind of sad. I really enjoyed staying there, the atmosphere & people are really great. On the 18th a bunch of Thai people had a party for me at their house in the country. There was a ton of good food, some of the best BBQ I've ever had & I stuffed myself pretty good. After that they took me to a shrine of this monk that built Do Insathep - which is highest temple in Thailand I think. Then we went out for warm soy milk, which was soo delicious, but like most things I like here I haven't been able to find since.
AFter that I hanged out w/ all the kids that took me to the club & played a game that is pretty popular here with them. While I was playing some guy took my shoes - so when I went to go home that night I had no shoes & had to use someone elses. I was pretty pissed off & afraid I wasn't going to get my sandals back - they were expensive - but luckily the next night someone knew who took them so he just went to the kids house & took them back. But I did stress over it for sure.
Then Sunday the 19th there was another going away party for me from the lady that owned the minimart & we had moo ga tat which is one of my favorite meals now. Its a really big social affair to eat, you bbq/cook the stuff while you sit & talk and what not. It takes like 3-4 hrs just to eat all the stuff but it was a lot of fun. I'll post pictures of the parties when I have a faster connection.
I didn't get my shoes back until Monday, which I had planned to leave, but didn't want to leave until I got my shoes, so I ended up leaving Tuesday. Fluke, the physics teacher, drove me to the airport & the minimart lady started crying when I left (umm?)...
Anyways, I decided to fly to Krabi rather than waste 24+ hrs taking a train. Reading this allowed sounds really wierd, not how I normally write, sorry.
