Touring PEI August ... >

Prince Edward Island has beautiful rolling hills with potato and other crops very neatly maintained. Water from lakes and the ocean add to scenery.
On one of the brochures PEI is described as "The Gentle Province". I believe this is most fitting.
While the houses were for the most part very nicely painted and appeared to be in excellent condition, the most outstanding feature was the size of the lawns. Many lawns were about 200 wide by 300 feet deep and were very green and nicely cut. I suspect riding lawnmower sales have been very good (and necessary). Interestingly, we did not see sprinklers or any "brown" grass so either there is ample rain or the red dirt is kind to grass.
