This is an great opulent hotel that's perfect for families but not obnoxious for those that don't have kids.  The pools are spectacular, with toy whales to play with (see photos) and a slide. 

The hotel is less than two hours from DC, with wild herons near by. Almost all the rooms face the water.

The hotel is literally steps from the beach, which is 20 feet long and 6 feet wide. Not much swimming there due to jelly fish, but good for boat rentals (and many of the room stays come with a partial voucher for that). Also has a great panoramic view of the Choptank River.

Service is great--- staff is warm and nice-- and the rooms are nice too.  Rates are pricey but it's worth it. Only complaint is that the outside pool closes at 6pm.
