Arrived in Cairns and met up with Rachel again and then had two busy days to start with.

Saturday was a tour with 'Uncle Brian' except it was Uncle Bart???  This was a full day around the rainforest, suppposed to be swimming in the rivers and pools, but it had rained so much that the river was too fast for us to go swimming in most of the pools, but we did manage to swim in the rock pool used in the 'Timotei' advert - so we had to try and get the right photos there!!!!

The tour was great fun and talk about being well fed - wow!!! - We had morning tea, two course lunch and afternoon tea and chocolate - needless to say I didn't need any evening meal!!!  A really great tour just spoiled by the weather - but it is the wet season!!!!

Sunday we went on a boat trip and went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef - fantastic - I also managed to do another scuba dive under supervision, again fantastic and we were so well fed again - these Australians certainly do know how to keep you well fed.

Monday night was BBQ night at the hostel and we had a great time, there was kangaroo, crocodile and barramundi as well as lots of salads!!!  Afterward there was a competition playinjg the didgeridoo - sorry my name didn't come out of the hat!!  I'll have to try it somewhere else.
