Cairns at last

We got into Cairns last night.  Finally...

We left WEDNESDAY NIGHT... and it is now Saturday.  Longest trip ever.

Funny story.  Erik's leg was getting really bad.. so we decided if it still hurt this morning we would go to the hospital.  He could barely walk so at 7 am we got up (having gone to bed at 6pm) and walked to the 24 hour clinic.  They referred us to the hospital where Erik sat around, had some tests (ultrasound) and was diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg 7 hours later.  This means blood thinning shots for the next week which almost made him cry...  and pills for 6 months.  Yippee.  This means we cannot leave Cairns for roughly a week as Erik cannot sit down in a bus until then.  Also he needs the remainder of his shots.

Other than that, Cairns is nice.  It has a tropical feel and a beautiful lagoon to lie in the sun.  Tomorrow morning we go for another round of needles in the stomach.  Not fun.
