Seeking a surftown post hippie, we were slammed with a mix over southern Austalian prices, dreadlocks, and flowerchildren grown up. A brutal off shore wind and clouds held us back from battling the washing machine chop waves of Byron Bay. We did manage to arrive Sunday, the day of the market, to listen to one man bands and didgeradoos. Stayed the night in what reminded us of Nu Dorms at Eckerd College. From there we headed south a few hours to Coffs Harbour on our search for surf, but the winds followed with the cold then pouring rain. So we attempted again to head further south to Port Macquarie, but once more the rain and wind followed. We did find a nice Ozzie Pozzie Backpackers and hunkered down to watch endless movie, much to Steph's liking. Watching the rain from the bus stop, where we were to take the over night bus to Sydney; we had quite a local show with crazies, cops, and well us! It all worked out to our benefit and we are now about to hit the big city.
