UFOs and other weird observations

I´m intending to use this entry to put things in that are baffling, bizarre and downright weird. Some of it may appear in the other entries, but some of it wont. So its going to be a work in progress.

1.  The highways between major cities are not very busy.

2.  Brazil has great breakfasts, but Argentina doesnt bother.

3.  Most people eat well after 9 or as late as 11 for their evening meal.

4.  Taxi drivers drive like maniacs, and so do bus drivers.

5.  Zebra crossings don´t mean a thing.

6.  Don´t assume anything works, including internet (it may simply mean you can check your email).

7.  Siesta does occur in South America.

8.  Indicators mean nothing.

8.  The graffiti in South America is political rather than artistic.

8.  Sweets are a big part of the menu.

9.  There are very few line markings on major roads in the centres of most town/cities in South America.

10. The highways between cities are generally very well maintained.

11. There is a plethora of roadside advertising in South America, particularly in Peru as you approach Lima.

12. Most things are closed in South American towns and cities on a Sunday.

13. Building codes don´t exist in South America, particularly for the poor.
