As we prepare to leave for the summer, we are so blessed with great friends and family.  We feel like we are finally getting everything taken care of: our house and dogs are being watched by a good friend, we are starting to pack and clean, and we are trying to mentally prepare ourselves for being immersed in at least three different cultures and languages this summer.  We leave early tomorrow morning for Hawaii to spend some time with Molly's side of the family; we'll be back in Buena Vista for about a day and a half, where we will unpack, do laundry, re-pack, have our official send-off at Cornerstone and try to get used to the time change and 8,000 foot altitude difference before leaving for Bangkok.  We will fly through Denver to Los Angeles to Taiwan to Bangkok, and because we cross the date line, it will take us almost three days to get there!

The latest from Dave and Lisa is that Grandma N. is improving but is still having some difficulty in the hospital there.  Thankfully, the doctors have been very clear and straightforward, and the hospital has been much easier to deal with.  Our friends anticipate being in Thailand for another three weeks or so, and we are looking forward to meeting up with them and serving them however we can.

 Requests:

  • We still don't have all of our support raised for the summer.  Thankfully Thailand is much cheaper than China, but we are trusting that the rest will be provided, or that we will be able to get by on what we have.
  • For Dave and Lisa's family, and for Grandma N.'s health.
  •  For our spiritual preparation and physical health as we travel.

We are continually being blessed as we prepare for this trip.  A few days ago, I went to pick up three months of prescriptions for Zach and me, fully prepared to spend over four hundred dollars.  The pharmacist looked confused, and said, "There's been a glitch in the computer.  I can't override it, so it looks like your total is $220."  PTL!
