After plenty of R&R in Mamaia, we hopped a slow train back to Bucharest for one last night before flying to Istanbul the next morning. Luckily we only stayed one night, as Bucharest had been suffering through a heat wave that was not felt so severely on the coast in Mamaia. The thermometer at our B&B got up to 48°C (118°F) that day. Even after a serious rain storm that evening, it did not get that much cooler in our non-A/C room that night. Between the heat and another lumpy bed, we barely got any sleep before the alarm went off urging us to get moving and catch our early morning flight to Istanbul.
