After our wonderful stay in Arches, we made our way south. We briefly checked out Canyonlands NP to see the beatiful viewpoint of the Canyon where the Colorado and Green Rivers converge. We then drove on and through Capital Reef NP with a brief stop to view some ancient pictographs. All along, the drive was quite scenic. We then made it to Bryce Canyon NP which was our next destination.
We made it to Bryce just in time for a spectacular sunset view of Bryce ampitheater. For those that have seen it, you know what I mean and for those that don’t, you must see it. It just gets better with the nature to be found here. The canyon filled with hoodoos is just amazing to see.
Our first morning here, we rose bright and early for the 6am sunrise and photo opportunity of the canyon. We then chose to do the eight mile hike of the Fairyland loop. It is a great trail down into the canyon, around and back out. It is less busy than many of the other trails, but no less beautiful. We absolutely loved it and didn’t see a soul for a few hours. We were getting our workout as we made the ascent back from the canyon below. Obviously, we are not accustomed to hiking at 8,000 feet. No Mount Everest for us in our future. Nonetheless, we did just fine with our hike and thoroughly enjoyed it!
