Brugge was fantastic. We did lots of sight seeing and got a free tour from the guys at the hostel which was lots of fun. There were lots of friendly people staying at the hostel and we made a few good friends. On the first night we sat and played cards in the hostels bar until quite late which was nice and relaxing.
Brugge is full of beautiful old buildings and winding canals. There are so many different stlyes of architecture all over the place and in the towns famous market square 5 different styles all face each other. On the tour we saw some cool windmills and took some pics of the reflections of the buildings on the canal. We also had a laugh with Danny, a taiwanese chap we met at the previous hostel!
Wednesday was hayleys birthday! So we went round doing more sight seeing and visiting various places. We had lots of treats and good meals, a huge bowl of spaghetti for lunch and a fondue meaty meal for dinner! Was a lovely day although we were unable to get a trip on the canals as it was too late by the time we had done the other things. But belgium truffles, waffles and chips made up fopr this. The horse and carts trotted down the cobbled streets and we thought about a trip but they were mega expensive and wed also walked the town anyway! Brugge is full of cool clothes shops, choc shops and n amazing sweet shop where we saw rock being handmade, genuinely fascinating! After our evening meal we were shattered so headed to bed.
Thursday - we got our trip down the canal! It was a beautful sunny day so it turned out best we did it thurs and not weds! We also visited the chocolate museum, where we pilfered some free choccies but they were quite stingey. Did some more wandering and ooh-ing at how cool the place was. In the eve we played some more cards and drank with some fellow travellers. The snuffel hostel was the best place weve stayed yet and had a real vibe to it. Cool decor and friendly people, as well as awesome music!
