I am not normally a fan of the shopping mall. But then, Flatiron Crossing is not a normal shopping mall. I learned about it a week or so before, as I searched the internet for something to do for a few hours between arriving at Denver International Airport, and meeting my cousin Joan in Boulder. Well, there it was, just outside Louisville, "in" Broomfield – Flatiron Crossing!

First off, the place is huge. So big it has its own bus system. And its design makes it look more like a park than a shopping mall. I probably could have hiked 10 or 15 miles in the time I had; there were trails and even waterfalls. (After all, this was supposed to be a hiking trip, wasn’t it?) But no, not with Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, Coach, Ann Taylor, L’Occitane, Williams-Sonoma, and all the others. Had I wanted to see a movie, there were plenty of choices among the 14 theaters.  Hungry? A choice of about 30 restaurants. Not to mention more than one Starbucks.

So, if you need to be anywhere near Denver, Broomfield, Louisville or Boulder, and you have time to kill and a car handy, you’ll make time fly at Flatiron, even if you aren’t a “shopper.”
