I had to catch a connection flight in Dublin to get to Bristol; Cork to Bristol was not an option. The flights were ok, but I got into Bristol very late. William, my godfather, and his wife Teresa picked me up from the airport. We had a nice hour and a half drive down to Tiverton where my Granny lives. We did get lost in the tiny village; we drove around the round abouts for quite a while. It was nice to see my Granny, and I was surprised that she stayed up so late. We got there and headed off to bed. The next morning, Granny had everything laid out: breakfast, having our photos taken, and lunch at the carvery. We had a nice Easter meal with family and some of Granny's friends, and we came back very full. We didn't get out to church, so I made sure to pray hard that night. The next morning, William and Teresa left early, I helped Granny with a few chores and then we headed out to stay with Granny's cousin Elizabeth, who lives just south of Bristol. The country side in Devon and Bristol is beautiful and a lot like the country side of Cork County. We got to Elizabeth's a little after lunch. We sat, chatted, and had a nice meal. Elizabeth then took us for a drive through the country side, to the Cheddar Gorge, and finally to the city of Wells which has a beautiful catherdral. It dates back to the late 1200's, and it is one of the few cathedrals with a cross arch. We went back to Elizabeth's for a nice stew dinner, and I had some wine and tea with the nice old ladies. We got up early the next day to go into Bristol to see the SS Great Britain. The Great Britain is one of the first iron ships made, and also was one of the first designed with a propeller and not paddles. It was an interesting exhibit, and afterwards we took our time and drove through the city. We had another fabulous dinner that night. We had to get up very earlier the next day since my flight left at 7:30am. It was nice to see the family again, and I hope that I was able to help Granny as much as I could.
