Friday me and warren headed out to Arapahoe Basin, another mountain near keystone. This is the most advanced mountain in summit county and the smallest. We had an awesome day and both gave some drop off's a go which was a laugh. We lasted for about 4 hours before i had to head back to work for the day. Got a bit of a snowstorm which you can see in a pic.

On fri night me and warren (SA flatmate) headed out to see my boss's hockey game. Its the closest we're gonna get to the real thing over here because most of the big games sell out in minutes. We headed along to this rink, got there early and we chatted to the rental people and managed to get some free rental skates for 20 mins till the game. I hadnt skated for years and had a fair bit of alcohol in the system already so it was an interesting 20mins. A kid kept on challenging us to race but warren couldnt even go straight and i was pretty crap myself! We got off the rink before the game and watched antons (boss) team beat the others and into the finals (they won the final sat night). Was an awesome game and will try go see another if i get the chance. We then headed out to a bar in breck for the night which was pretty gd.

Sat night breckenridge had the 'Snowboarding Grand Prix'. Over the week the worlds best snowboarders were competing on the halfpipe for the title. Saturday night they had an exhibition, where they built a huge quarter pipe in the middle of the breck parking lot in town. It was huge! They had a comp that night where they towed the snowboarders along using snowmobiles up to the jump. It was awesome and they had djs playin the same time. They put out a vid (put it on the btb site) and you can have a look if you want to download it (rightclick -saveas) :

Monday i headed up to copper for my first day up there. I met this guy on the chair and we boarded for about 6 hours straight. We found an area where it was pure powder.. Almost up to my waist. Its the best boarding i've ever done and some of the trails in the powder were so quiet and untouched that it was like heliskiing.. Powder takes a whole different style of riding. You have to lean right back like your in the water.. I ate it a few times by hitting deep powder and doing a few sommesaults. One point me and this guy were doing a trail through powder and tree trails when i missed the trail and went straight into deep deep powder in the trees.. It took me about 5 mins just to dig myself out hah.. Best day of boarding so far though so am definately hitting that mountain again. Mon night me and brandon (flatmate) went to a local club and played poker for a few hours. I went all in on the first hand with another guy and came off second best heh. Lucky there was a consolation game and i got down to the final 3 in that.. By the end of the trip i'll be a pro for sure..

Today i'm at work and we just found out that the lake is frozen enough to start kiting on it. Cant wait to hit it, antons out there now trying some kites and we're meant to get 7" of snow over the next few days so lookin forward to give it a go this week.
