Bom Bom Bar is one of our favourite places to hang out and listen to music in Boracay. It's a cosy little bar with lots of driftwood seating outside at the beach, and during high season there is live music almost every night - usually laid back sounds such as reggae and Filipino folk, with accompanying bongo drummers.
The bar itself is native style, and the interior is attractively decorated with local arts, crafts and carvings.
There's a good selection of cocktails & beers, plus local and imported spirits, and happy hour prices are reasonable.
Boracay has changed so much over the last few years that it is almost unrecognisable from the sleepy island it used to be - that's one of the reasons why I'm such a fan of cosy little bars like this, which still retain that island charm and character despite all the recent overdevelopment.
Here's hoping that bars such as Bom Bom manage to survive the onslaught of construction, "modernisation" and globalisation!
