To Boise with a Rubber Chicken

DAY ONE:

Stephanie picked me up at the office right around Noon and off we went.  The plan was to get as far as Pendleton, but we got there by 5:30 and were not ready to stop - so we kept going.  The next plan was to get to Ontario, Oregon, but then I remembered Joe's Crab Shack in Boise, so we decided to make Boise or destination - to get a good dinner and try to minimize the miles to Park City the next day.

Our plan was almost thwarted because of the time change - when we hit Boise it was 10:00 PM MDT, not 9:00.  However, they let us in to Joe's and we had a great dinner.  Stephanie bought a T-shirt and I got a pair to the world famous "Bite Me" boxers.

Highlights of our drive today were a late lunch at the Cottage Cafe in Cle Elum (another favorite spot) and Stephanie's discovery of the very cool rubber chicken that Cheryl bought for her.  We discussed possible names for the chicken for about an hour, finally settling (for now) on "Lord Dennis Delmont Duck Chicken".  Not sure if thhis name will last - but its a good one.

Also listened to about 2 hours of "Empire Falls" a great book by Richard Russo, as well as good tunes on the IPod.  Favorites include: "Sexyback" by Justin Timberlake and some crazy song by a girl rap band about girls cruising around in hot cars...Hilarious.
