We travelled to Birmingham on the train, passing masses of beautiful green hills and quaint cottages...then we hit Birmingham...dark, dull and ugly...What have we gotten ourselves in for. Met our agent Nick who showed us around, hmmm still not convinced on the place...Is it too late to head back to London!!!!

Then the hunt for a house and the night of disaster! First of all I got stuck in the bus door as it opened..I couldnt move till everyone had got on, man it hurt. Then, I stupidly left my bosses prize, inscribed book of maps on the bus. After chasing it 5 blocks in the pouring rain, I gave up and rang the bus company!Got on the bus they told me and the bus driver, not knowing much english started driving off with me, having no money or phone or friends! Jumped off the bus and then got on the right bus and retrieved the map.

Went for an interview for a house. Turns out it was an abandoned pub (in the ghetto mind you)with a pool room, bar music room etc...however the tenants, oooooh dear!Besides the skull decore and black walls, we kinda feared for our life. And 5 minutes from the city, hmm! More like half hour!

Ended up calling a taxi whose driver yelled at us when we got in for giving him the wrong address (Seriously think he was drunk!). He took us o the wrong place so fearing for our lifewe jumped out in a random bus station and trid to find our hostel. After walking down a dark alley and getting too scared we got a cab and spent way too much money on a hotel room! Athough was the best breakfast ever!

Got a beautiful house the next day. (Must have been that lucky penny we found!). However, we had to get so much money for the bond (more than we could withdraw with our accounts so had to stay up all night contacting people to Western Union it it us!).

Turns out Birmingham has not enough money for our needs so we toddled off on the train, through the ghetto, to a little village to get the money. Feeling like drug runners we dropped off our fortune to the real estateand then moved in! yay!
