On Tuesday morning we caught the train up to Birmingham to see all the Campbells. Poppys sisters family.
It took 2 hours on the train, but it didnt really feel that long. It was a very comfortable ride. Much more comfortable than the London Tube anyway!
Gez picked us up from in the city and drove around the sights, and saw Josie (Poppys sister). She looks fantastic! Mum said she hasnt changed a bit. We then went on to Brendans, and then Kevins. Met their families, which was lovely. We then drove back into town, and did a walking tour of the "Burm". Went to the German Market - had one of their specialty drinks of Hot Chocolate and Baileys. MMMMM YUM! Got to keep the cup too. Nice little souvineer. Continued walking around, saw a giant Corona, complete with lime on top, saw one the Walkabout pubs - the "aussie" pub chain that is apparently very popular.
Got some chinese on the way home and stayed at Gez's house.
The next day Gez gave us a photo tour of Bourneville - the village built by Mr. Cadburys for his workers back in the day. I didnt even know Cadbury was English! I thought it Australian. Haha.
Into town again for some shopping. We did well. Rubbed the nose of the bull in the bullring. Hopefully now we'll have lots of good luck.
Made our way back to london and met with Jess D from Rebel for dinner! She's been here for 6 months now working and travelling. It was so great to catch up! She was so excited to see someone from home. We had a lovely dinner at an Italian place in Leicester Square and then we went back to the bar in our hotel before we parted ways again! It was so great to see her. Hi Jess!!! :-)
