So down the coast we went.  And what a drive it was.  Wow.  If you've never done the Big Sur drive, it's a must.  Our first stop was in Monterey, at the aquarium there, which is one of the best in the world. We had a blast playing in the touch pools and watching the sea otters.  They even had a great white shark, even if it was just a baby.  And the jellyfish were really cool.

Just to say we had been there we did the 17-mile drive and went past Pebble Beach.  Although it wasn't any more breathtaking than any of the rest of the coast, it was pretty cool to see the mansions and the golf course.

We continued down to Phifefer State Park and camped there, then hiked there in the morning.  We also found the Phifefer Beach, this amazing and secluded beach where the waves crash against rock formations...you can't describe it, you have to see it.  And while you're there, grab a bottle of wine and make it a picnic.  Or at least we did, since it was Josh's 30th birthday!!!  We also stopped at Nepenthe for lunch, which overlooks the pacific about 1000 ft. up perched on the cliff.  So totally James Bond.  We loved it.

The roads were winding but the views were some of the best we've had on our trip.  We so love the West Coast!!!
