Woke up at Wal-Mart in Oxnard and hit the road early.  We drove California Route 1 all the way up the coast, stopping first at Hearst Castle. (The free museum that they hide at the back of the visitor center is cool, but we didn't bother with the guided tours of the actual house.)  From there it's a long, winding drive that was as gorgeous as everyone says it is...sharp turns, cliffs, sea, sky...).  The next brief stops were Cambria and Santa Cruz, and we hit San Francisco by 9pm.

The Nard! That's where I grew up. Great big Walmart in the Rose shopping center off of the 101. Do you have any idea how dangerous it was to be sleeping in your car in that parking lot?! The Nard isn't the safest place on the planet. Glad you're having fun. Shame to hear about the rules they've put in at Dodger Stadium. Didn't always used to be that way.

Ouch--you sure did trash Dodger Stadium. I cracked up over the photos of Anna with the colossal artichoke farmer. Glad to see that you have continued to win at ski-ball. Do they still have those snap bracelets at the prize redemption counter? Brings back memories of Seaside Heights, Salisbury Beach, and numerous amusement parks that we've been to.
