This morning was partly cloudy, so it looks like a good day.
The next stop is Bisbee; I was able to find the Queen Mine tour fairly easily. But when I pulled into the parking area, all of a sudden, I thought I was in trouble, the parking area does not look big enough for me to turn around, and then I saw a sign pointing to the RV Park. When I went up to the RV Park, I was able to turn around without any problems and then pull back down and park in the parking area for the mine tour.
We went in and purchased our tour ticket and looked around at the exhibits. When it was time to go for the tour, we had to put on a rain jacket, a belt, and a light and battery onto the belt. The group then went out and got onto a mine train car so we can ride into the mine. Once we started into the mine, we stopped three different times, and we got off and explored two different location.
Our next stop was a national memorial that is over looked by a lot of people, because it’s at the bottom of the state and out of the way. Coronado National Memorial even has a cave. I did not do enough research; otherwise I would have made sure I had allotted more time for this park and explored the cave. In the visitor center, Eric found some armor, which the kids are allowed to play with and experience the heaviness of the armor.
The next stop for the day is Kartchner Caverns. We went in and took the next available tour. We then found out that no cameras are allowed. All the caverns that I have been in, allows cameras, but not here. Then I tried to look for a CD or DVD with photos of items in the caverns, but they don’t even have that. The DVD that they do have is an education video of how the caverns were created. I still liked the caverns, but was disappointed about the camera thingy.
Looking towards Tucson, the skies looked dark, so I wanted to find a local campground. Looking in the Woodalls and TrailerLife books, we found one and it had plenty of available spaces. Cochise Terrace RV Resort was nice and quite park.
