We arrived into Barra Mansa at 1.30, and headed into the town to get some lunch. We got several stares in the cafe for carting round our bags, I guess they don't get many tourists there. We headed back to the bus station, and while I watched the bags, Rick and Nikki headed to the supermarked to buy some food for the journey. That turned out to be fairly unsuccessful, so Nikki and I set off in the opposite direction, which went a little better for us.
After all that excitement, all that was left was to sit and wait for the start of our 20 hour bus journey. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Every time a bus from the right company pulled up, we got really excited, but it was never our bus. Eventually it arrived, and when we tried to get on, we were still told it wasn't ours. I watched with mild worry as it pulled off, and couldn't help but wonder if it wasn't just a lack of understanding of Portugese and English of both parties that had prevented us boarding. Eventually, an hour and 20 mins late, our bus arrived, and we set off at 5.20 pm.
