After a 24 hour bus ride, in a bus with a stinky toilet, a man with some sort of throat problem that made him make a vomit type noise every 10 minutes and a guy who decided I was going to realise his dream to get with a foreigner despite the fact that I said no, I finally arrived in Goiania. On my arrival in Goiania I still had not decided whether I would go visit Denys and Joao Paulo or head straight to Barra do Garcas. I decided to leave it up to fate, in that if Denys was online I would ask him to come get me and if he wasn't I would simply catch the next bus to Barra. Fate decided that I was to go see Denys and it didnt take him long to arrive and give me a long awaited hug. It was an amazing feeling seeing him again, I even let a tear or two slip. I spent a couple of days with the boys in Goiania mainly reminiscing, before heading up to Barra.

My encounter with my host family, particularly my host mum was very emotional. Tears and hugs aplenty! Although finding them in the first place wasn't that simple as although I had written numerous times to my host brother Felipe telling him my plans to visit he failed to mention in his one line replies that they had closed their snack shop and had moved house! Luckily Denys and JP did some investigating and found out where they lived and took me out there, where they live now is a bit of a hike from central, made me realise how lucky I was to have lived within easy walking distance of pretty much everything I wanted during my exchange year.

I was absolutely touched to find that in my host parents house there is a little table with a picture of each of their children including a picture of me! Its  amazing to come back and to realise that it wasn't just that the people here made an impact on me but that I made an impact on them...

Some of the major changes about the town are the lack of one of the best bars and night clubs. Both have been shut down, and are sorely missed. There is a few different shops here and there, but mostly things are just as I remember them. My friends are older, somewhat more mature, but boys will always be boys so the only ones that have seemed to have changed dramatically are those who are under their girlfriends thumbs!

It has been amazing being back in Barra... I have missed this place and these people so much, coming back has definately refuelled my dreams to come back and live here again one day!!!

Most of my 3 weeks here was spent doing what me and my friends do best, going out drinking, dancing and listening to live music. I love Brasilian music!!

Leaving Barra again was hard, but every goodbye gets a little less painful and hence I managed to save my tears until I had boarded the bus instead of crying while getting my goodbye hugs.
