Closest Beach to Poza Rica

I've been in Poza Rica seven months, but until now, haven't been to the closest beach to my house.  I've been to Tuxpam and other points south.  But this was my first trip to where the Cazones River reaches the Gulf.  It's  - at least it was that weekend - a very quiet little place.  Everything closed down pretty early.  But, like most little places in Mexico, the restaurants will stay open as long as you need them to if you get there before they close..
