In Banyo, Enoc taught me Fulfulde. Laminou's 1st wife named me Djamilla when I couldn't remember the Muslim name I had picked for myself. Laminou had 3 wives. The 1st wife braided my hair in traditional Fulani style. She had just had a baby boy- Kabiru. His newest wife was only 19, light skinned and skinny they said we looked like twins. She was so shy and quite. Each wife took a turn cleaning and cooking for the whole family. The family altered my view of polygamy.
