Baños is really an obligatory stop if you´re in this part of the worl... It has lots of cheap accommodation and good food places plus tons of activities around the vicinity.

We had a steam bath at the hostel which was great and a real laugh as we didn´t know what to expect and were treated to quite a proceedure of pampering including sitting in wooden boxes filled with steam and being sprayed by a piercing jet of cold water!

Also went on horseback around the mountains to get views of the town and of course the rather scarey volcano looming above which spurts out huge amounts of debris pretty much constantlly and is far more impressive than any I've previously seen, although slightly worrying! In particular the ominous looking trail of grey rubble splayed down the mountainside on your way into town makes the booming tourist trade look rather vulnerable?
