This morning started at 0645. Skytrained to the central pier in hopes of taking a water taxi to yet another 5 mile walk to the Southern bus station.
I ended up on a passenger ferry up the river. I miss my boat.
The sights were great but a fog/pollution stopped me from getting any good pics on the river. I hopped off and headed toward the bus station. After about 2 hours of walking through poorer and poorer living and street life I found a station, not the station. So I got a taxi for the 5 more miles it was to the new (apparently since aug 07 when my Lonely Planet guide was published). Now I am here with my $30 dollar ticket aboard a 24 seat "VIP" bus to Phuket (pronouced poo-get), not "fuck it" :-)
The trip there is 13 hours overnight. I am excited. The flight from Bangkok to Phuket is $60 but I am not in a hurry for once and besides, I want to see more towns, villages and countryside, watefalls, rainforest, mountains, ocean......
1740 is departure time. Oh and found these small 100% vege/fruit smoothies they sell at the 7eleven, for 40cents.
Next stop Phuket, rawai muay thai gym. ( rawaimuaythai.com )
