Woke up with a good headache after last night's adult bar scene....I wonder if Will ever made his departure to Vietnam this morning?

I hopped on the Skytrain, Thai transit above the streets.  it is a newer train and quite efficient so far.  One dollar to Suhkumvit, another area of Bangkok. My goal here was to find MBK

MBK is the largest mall I have ever been to.  7 stories of everything.  One whole floor the size of a football field, atleast, held 30 restaurants featuring international foods...pick and choose and pay at the end.  I got suckered in to a vegan lasagna that was fantastic!

Another floor held all the electronic gizmos.  So there were atleast 50 small cell phone stores.  All the signes looked the same, all the workers looked alike. Hold that thought...so to use the Iphone here you have to have it unlocked. I left it with a shop for the hour it is supposed to take to do this.  I went walking around and when I turned around, all the stores looked exactly the same.  5 rows of these stores...I started sweating as my hour came up adn for the life of me I could not find the damn store!  They have my phone. i asked security, I asked old, I asked young, to no avail.  I started to worry. I ust have gone up and down every row ten times looking for the face I thought I could pick out of a lineup.  Surely they didnt cose shop in that hour..to become 2 hours.  They dont need my phone they have thousands of better I phones here anyway (32gb, $300).

I stood against the wall trying to figure out how the hell I was gonna find this place. I turned around voila. Dont ask, just smile. He told me they could not unlock the phone without erasing all 1600 photos I have stored plus all 1000 songs. Forget it.  I ran out of that mall so fast, thankfully there were only 300 exits to similar looking Thai street signs.  I was already hungry by the time I left.

From MBK I walked to an Irish pub for a beer...people watched and studied my map to figure out my next move.  Soothing to the ear was a very pretty British gal blabbing her headoff for one hour on her cell phone..her conversation was absolutely bloody regodamndiculous.  When I was ready to steal her phone and step on it I took off.  Next station was near Spa 1930, a massage/spa parlor that was recommended by my guide.  I had my first Thai massage for 90 minutes (30 of which I had them stay on the feet which were swollen from the miles of trekking yesterday and today) This little 90lb Thai girl was pulling and kneading me like dough but in the end I was giggling like a school girl as  itried to say thank you in Thai and bow out.  I really should get this done every day here.  Smaller parlors offer 1 hour massage for 9 bucks!

Brown Sugar is a jazz club that was next on my list.  I finally found it. Closed.  The back up plan was a 70's club.Closed. Did I miss something? Seems as though Election day is coming up and after 2pm Friday until Monday, bars can't serve. So the long long walk continues.

Taxi drivers, street peddlers, tuk tuk drivers (the 3 wheeled death trap) everyone is tripping over one another while people weave in and out of traffic..on the sidewalk and in the road.  Only in Paris have I seen more of a driving disaster.

Every once in a while while walking, a smell overwhlems me and  I almost gag. I swear they are selling dried rat skins. Maybe it is some fish skin or something.  Next time I can hold my breath I will get a pic to help the point.

Tonight I am staying at Miami Hotel.  I rundown hotel atleast 60 years old, but it has hot water, shower and a bed so I am game. Showered and dropped off my stuff and its already 11.  Time to eat, it has been a while.  i found a small american run bar that was serving anyway.  They fed me and, yawning, I figured I should rest up for the morning. I did catch a few Thai shows on the tv before passing out on a hard lump of bed.
