We arrived in Bangkok after being delayed in Singapore because of a huge rain storm. I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect. We got out of the airport not having a place to stay for the night so we just told them to go to Koh San Road. Got there had our packs on our backs and just walked. This road is mayhem. Lots and lots of tourists and shops. We finally spotted this guesthouse and luckily they had rooms available. Very nice, internet on the downstairs and our room had AC our own bathroom. All I could ask for. We then ventured off to Koh San Road and did some browsing around. We had dinner at this cafe where you buy 2 bottles of beer and get one free. Now these bottles are 1 litre each. It is so hot and humid here even at night it doesn't cool down. humidity with curly and wavy hair do not mix. our hair gets so frizzy and gross. so we bought headbands and settled down for a nice cold beer Nothing like a cold one to beat the heat. The only thing is when you sit down there are these people who come around with baskets full of jewlerry and other useless stuff. Now in Edmonton you say no thank you they leave you alone. Here is not the same. Once you say no thanks, they stay in your face and show you everything they have. I was bombarded by at least 6 or 7 of them through the course of dinner where Erin was able to just sit there and laugh at me. Good times. We have the day in Bangkok and then off to Ko Samui later tonight.

Hey guys, Sounds like you are settling in nicely. Love hearing about all of your adventures, reminds me so much of when I was there and went through all the same things. Love your stories on the ping pong show, it's a shocking way to start out your trip, a real eye opener.
