Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims
In and around Boston, United States
Last year we took a family vacation for Thanksgiving and visited Plymouth, MA. Our kids were thrilled to see the real "Plymouth Rock" and also go on board the Mayflower II - a faithful replica of the original ship. It was so small, though - I can't imagine sailing across the ocean in that tiny vessel! Our favorite was Plimoth Plantation - a living history museum with a 1627 town, a Native American villiage, and a 17th century farm, complete with live animials which the kids just loved. We rented a timeshare from http://www.redweek.com on Cape Cod, just 30 minutes from Plymouth. Using the wonderfully equiped kitchen we cooked our traditional turky dinner, and then were able to walk it off with a stroll along the beach! Just can't beat it!
