Hola! Bonjour! Hallo!
In and around Innsbruck, Austria
Well...back in the EU!
After a complimentry stop over in London, i jumped a plane to Madrid, Spain, and managed to navigate my way to the hostel. Having not slept AT ALL for over 36 hours, after leaving Canada, i was spent. Literally.
The weather was so hot in madrid that most of my days were sent sleeping until midday (which sounds damn lazy-and in reality, it is)-which is justified by the fact that nothign happens in Spain until the afternoon on account of extremely hot weathe...which means most nights i was up until 3am...
The city itself is beautiful. Old. Elegant. Tapas bars on every corner. Sangrias every night-if you so choose. Or a lazy cerveza.
The city is full of things to see, and i could have spent hours wandering about...but i wont bore you with the details...
So then Paris. Oh Paris. What a city. What a beautiful city. Old old world buildings, world icons...awesome people...
Spent a few days with Sarah and Mathias (friends from home, and France), seeing all things Parisian and learning quite a bit. From climbing the Eiffel Tower, to The Lourve, to Sacre Coer and Montmarte..Mona Lisa and friends (tiny tiny tiny painting)....then some lovely little pubs and lazy nights at the hostel garden...good times!!
Paris at night is amazing, especially when you laze in front of the Eiffel tower, soaking up free music and drinking red wine and tapas...i found myself always doing a double take, thinking "is this actually real? really? Is it?"
Once bel arrived, we did a Paris in a day shoot through, seeing all the sights, before heading off to Amsterdam the next day. Amsterdam-the land of bikes...literally. I would never fear being hit by a car, but in constant worries of been mowed down by a bike.
it was sweet to catch up with Jono and see what hes doing over there, and see where hes working etc, and then to juts wander around town...such a livable city. Full of parks, beautiful buildings, veined by canals...
Whilst the red light district was totally confronting, it was also very interesting to learn a little about why, how and wheh all this sex trade started, and how it is actually a real business for the women who work the windows...such a different world...its so "normal"....strange.
Onto Oktober Fest in Munich! Oh dang....beer beer litres of beer. more beer. oh, have some beer...haha. So much fun-so much beer, so many crazy dressed up vibrant, funny, loving fun people. dancing on tables, screaming chants, singing, dancing, laughing....words cannot describe...in fact, i dont think you even have tlike beer to love the festival.
Now, the Austrian Alps are calling my name...so to them i shall run...
