An Awesome Treat!
In and around Jodhpur, India
My idea of a holiday is to go to a place where there is nothing to do,where you can get good food and where you can just laze around with nice book and endless cups of tea. Fort Khejarla, 85 kms from Jodhpur, Rajasthan fits the bill perfectly. I had booked room through their site. Khejarla is a tiny and sleepy village. Also nearby is Pipar, famous for block printing.
Few rooms were inside the fort and few were in annexe. They are also adding new rooms which indicates popularity of the destination. Our room in annexe was HUGE and amazing. Bathroom was nice and clean and even bigger than the room. There was no T.V. which was a relief. I particularly liked patio outside the room. It was shaded by trees, under which there were dining table and chairs where we had our morning and evening tea in the company of many birds and squirrels.Patio also had an old wooden bench for seating. From Patio one can view entire fort making an ideal place to relax.
Service was excellent. Serve with smile was their motto. Right from front office to sweepers staff members looked after all our needs. Cleanliness was worth taking note of. Compound and room were spotlessly clean.
Fort Khejarla is 400 years old. Renovation started in 2006. It is interesting to see photos of how it was renovated and turned into such a beautiful and luxurious hotel.
Best Experience: Service, Best North Indian / South India food I have had in Rajasthan. Rajasthani food was also delicious. Ambience, particularly at night was beautiful. Every evening there was Rajasthani folk dance in the candle lighted surroundings.
Worst Experience: If you have kids with you it may become a problem to keep them entertained as there are no activities except swimming and village safari. There are some indoor and outdoor games – if interested.
