China Odyssey
In and around China
A two week tour of China including stays in Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guilin, Guile, and Hongkong. This journal is being written in real time (during the two weeks) and will be updated as often as I can find internet access (and some free time).
At the outset, i'd like to say this to say that this trip is not an adventurous backpacking trek into China's interiors. I have friends who did that and I envy them for it. This is a planned tour - with me and my 9 year old daughter, Missy - that involves planes, five star hotel accommodations, cars and limos, a private driver and a personal tour guide. So, yeah, we're not exactly roughing it here in Chairman Mao's land. I thought I'd get that out of the way first so that you can keep that perspective when you read my entries!
Hope you enjoy reading about my experiences as much I will - sharing them with you.
Cheers,
Syerah
