Bring on the castles...

In and around Thallichtenberg, Germany

Today we visited Ramstein air base, which is only about 25 minutes away. It was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of authentic crystal and wine stores. Andrea bought a really nice camera with a generous discount. The swarovski store was absolutely beautiful and took my breath away. I'm not sure I would pay $300 for a 2.5 inch long bear, but it is certainly nice to look at.

On our way home, we swung by (cause you can just "swing by") a castle near our town. It was very neat seeing my first castle. However, it is described more as ruins instead of a castle. Either way, it was very neat...and rainy, as is always the case.

It was great to begin the weekend by getting the invitation to follow up on your travels. Sounds like a fun group. Glad to hear that another Hoosier is on the trip. Those train doors can be brutal when you're not expecting to move very fast. Hope the rest of your trip slow down to you can really take in the beauty of the country. Can't wait to see more pictures soon, as well as read stories from your adventures. Miss you. Have an exciting ;-] journey.
