And they wore kilts

In and around Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Edinburgh is a beautiful city, with plenty of walking to do. I got lost a few times. What I remember most are seeing Alexander Grahm Bell's birth house and seeing the park where Treasure Island was inspired. It was also the first time I had cucumbers on a sandwhich. Subway hadn't thought of that little genius yet. The Pizza Hut was good (reminded me of home). I didn't drink at all on this excursion, which was rare for this trip. It was a good place for some me time. They wore kilts, too. When I was taking a little tour ride, I swear they said that Adam Smith was buried in Edinburgh. Mr. Wealth of Nations was nowhere to be found. I spent all day tracking down all of the little factoids they threw out on the bus ride, but that was the only one I couldn't track down. The Glen Turret Whiskey Distillery. I did drink on this excursion, but not in Edinburgh. A perfect example of me being me. They had a beer sampler, so we all did the samplers and then had a full pint of each sample. Well, let's just say I had to go to the bathroom in THE worst way. Owe. They actually pulled the bus over on the side of the road in the middle of the rolling hills of Scotland so I could go to the bathroom. Cars are coming from the other direction, honking their horns and waving, as I stood there for the longest time as I returned Earth's natural minerals. When I got back on the bus, everyone cheered. I'm usually the quiet kid. My professors just shook their heads; everyone laughed. Oh, memories.
