HNRC 499 Classical Italy Trip

In and around Italy

Jennifer Platts

Interior Design

I decided to travel to Italy because I wanted to enhance my studies as a student in the interior design department. We had spent a lot of time studying various styles and eras of architectural development from the ancient Egyptian Pyramids to the modern works of Frank Lloyd Wright.

When I heard about the class and the trip itself, I was excited to finally have an opportunity to visit the sites that I had spent hours studying. I couldn't wait to see and experience the great works of architecture that I had previously only been able to see in slide show presentations.

The trip was more fulfilling than I could have ever dreamed it would be. I finally felt as though I had found my calling. Architecture is my passion, and after being on the trip, I am convinced that this is the right path for me.
