2007 Part 5: Land of Oz
In and around Australia
The last leg of our around-the-world journey in 2007 was Australia. Here, you can read about our adventures as we travel up the eastern coast from Brisbane to Cairns. Then, find out about our time in Darwin before we head down south through the desert to Alice Springs, where we plan on touring to the famously huge rock in the middle of nowhere - Uluru.
After Alice Springs, we'll continue travelling south to Adelaide and pop over to Kangaroo Island from there for a couple of days. Melbourne will then be our penultimate stop, and where we plan seeing some old friends and also spending Christmas. Finally, we'll end up in Sydney to bring in the New Year and catch up with some more friends.
We'll be leaving Australia for London on 2nd January and will try to brace the cold as best as we can when we arrive back at London Heathrow Airport on 3rd January. No doubt, we will need the help of all of our friends and family in the UK to readjust to life, most importantly the cost of living. Can we politely request some meals out to celebrate our return... on you? ;-)
