Walking across England 03.09-21.10.07

In and around Reeth, United Kingdom

I am leaving Cairns on September 3, 2007. The flight looks long as I leave home at 4.30am and don't leave Australia until 16.40. We are flying to Manchester and after a day there will take the train to St Bees, near Whithaven in the Lake District. We start the Coast to Coast on Friday 07.09.07.

Hi Jane - Bon Voyage - hope you don't limp all the way, and don't drink too much wine! (P.S. this site seems to cause our 'cookie guard' a lot of angst!!) Ciao!

My wife and I want to do the walk across England. Did you have to reserve B&B's far in advance - is so how far? I am a Yank and taught school in Ocean Shores, near Byron Bay in 2001. Now retired, ready for a walk about. Any advice to help us plan a walk would be appreciated. Thank you. bobk

Hi Jane, Can't say I've been following your progress, but FANTASTIC that you've completed it - and with good weather to boot (pun intended). Look forward to hearing about it over a drink some time soon in Cairns. Enjoy the rest of your time overseas. Lots of love from Henri and I - Keila
