Our European Escapades
In and around Europe
As much as she'd hate to admit it, this entire trip began with Christina's growing Harry Potter obsession. After reading the best-selling books and repeatedly watching the blockbuster movies, she longed for even more involvement in the life of the young fictional wizard. She began the search for how to accomplish this, and it wasn't long before she discovered the incredible offerings of Harry Potter memorabilia available for purchase on EBay. One official Hogwart's envelope and four collectible spoons later (we should thank the mighty Dumbledore that's all it took), Christina realized overpriced stationary and silverware embellished with human faces was not going to suffice. She needed to experience it. This is where I come in. I mean, who better than your older sister to drag around Great Britain to oogle at various Harry Potter film locations? So Chris calls me up one day and asks, "Do you want to go to England with me?". Without hesitation, I quickly responded, "Sure! Why not?!". It has been over ten years since I've been there, and anyone whose barely knows me is aware of my love of traveling. Plus, it was nice to see my sister had been by the travel bug, too. Anyway, to make a long story short, our Harry Potter themed tour of the United Kingdom is still present, but we have added a few days in Amsterdam, Netherlands and have more on the itinerary than a trip to Hogwart's Castle and platform 9 3/4.
