Africa - many times! addicted!
In and around Kenya
It all started back in 1999 when Ed Bretherton, my first boyfriend, dragged me kicking and screaming to South Africa where I was convinced I would be killed by a lion, a spider or a mugger in Jo'Burg.... he proved me wrong. I fell in love with the place and have been back 3 times. Highlights for me were the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Park (much more exciting than the Kruger), the bunji jump at Bloukrans, Plettenberg Bay and CapeTown.
I also did a long tour from East Africa to South Africa - the best trip by far. Fave places were Uganda and Namibia...and the Okavango Delta.
I also collected a host of animal friends including a bug living and laying its eggs in my finger and a very friendly parasite that stayed in my intestines for a further year and a half.
Africa is amazing, with so much to offer and so much to teach you. Inspiring. It beats in your heart.
