I spent 17 days in Egypt - checking out the sights and sounds (and smells). My time there was awesome and I'd love to go back someday - especially to the Sinai and the Red Sea. I flew in and out of Cairo and on my tour checked out the pyramids and the egyptian museum in cairo. Then took the overnight train to Aswan, checked out the sights there and then hopped on a felluca (traditional egyptian sailboats) for a 3 day cruise down the Nile, stopping at such places as Kom Ombo (famous) and 'poo' island (not so famous). The cruise finished at Luxor where we spent New Years Eve and went to sights like the Valley of the Kings and Karnak temple - both very impressive! After that we took a bus to Hurghada and then hydrofoil ferry ride across the Red Sea to Sharm El Sheik. From there it was a shortish bus ride to our final destination - the small and very modern township of Dahab - world renowned for its diving. There we relaxed at the really nice Happy Life Village hotel for 3 days (despite the cheesy name, it was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at with huge rooms, really nice central pool and bar area, and own private beaches, and all nestled up beside mountains about half an hour by jeep from Dahab township). After that it was off to St Catherines, near Mt Sinai - which we climbed to see the awesome sunrise there, and then came back down the 3000 steps of repentence. After that it was back to Cairo, where I spent a couple more days exploring. I also went up to Alexandria on a day trip with Chris & Joe, from my tour group.
