Dungroovin round the World
In and around World
OK so we're close to the off and all of a sudden it's real!! All the favourite tunes are on the ipod (can I really live a year without hearing Deep Purples' Speed King??) I've spent so much time wrestling with Indiarails' reservation service that Kim is threatening to buy me an anorak and note book. (For revenge I've booked her cattle class - squat toilet from Bombay to Jodphur!!!)
We're packing the last of the house and realising how tough it is going to be to be away from home friends and family for a whole year. This is my last week at work for a year...I can hardly believe it!
On the other hand we have the adventure of a lifetime awaiting us ....or until the cash runs out! (probably about a month from now and we'll have to hide in Penge for the rest of the year) So now we need to finish moving out, cut our packing from three wardrobes down to two rucksacks and try and be on the plane on time....next stop Mumbai.
We hope that this will be a useful resource for those other "older" travelers who want to set off on such an adventure. Like you we have scoured all the travel books for advice and found that the advice for every sticky situation (no money, train, lost flight tickets, where to store your stuff for a year) is the same, "contact your parents" I'd need a bloody good medium as mine have been dead 10 years!!
So here's to you potentially intrepid traveler, just bloody well go for it.
