Bahia Brazil - The Land of the Drum!
In and around Brazil
Salvador Bahia is where I will call home until at least May. It truly is the land of the drum. Percussion can be heard on the streets at all hours of the night and day. Whether the sound is coming from a traditional drum, or atop a resturant counter, a vendor cart or a styrofoam container, there is rhythm everywhere.
This city is loud, and minus the fact that I am the whitest of white, I dont think I will have a problem fitting in. There is a constant energy here and it is never exhausting. Rather it is a zest for life. The drums move these people and when you start to hear the vibrations, you cant help but start to move with the energy.
So alive. So free. So intense. This, is Salvador Bahia.
