9-Day Colorado Bus Tour - Summer 2008
In and around United States
My son and I received word today that we were confirmed to take the trip of a lifetime across the United States to Colorado. We are starting this blog to keep in touch with friends and family. We leave on Saturday, June 14. Here is our schedule:
Day 1 : Leave Kingsport and travel through Nashville to Kentucky and cross the Mississippi River before we arrive in St. Louis , Missouri.
Day 2: We continue west through Missouri, stopping in Kansas City and Topeka. We spend the night in Salina, Kansas.
Day 3: We continue through Kansas to Denver, Colorado. We will spend the night there and have dinner at "The Broker Restaurant".
Day 4: We will travel through Rocky Mountain National Park. We will spend the night in Estes Park, Colorado.
Day 5: We will visit Colorado Springs, including a stop at the U.S. Air Force Academy and the Garden of the Gods. Spending the night in Colorado Springs.
Day 6: We visit Pike's Peak by railroad and the town of Cannon City, home to the world's highest suspension bridge. Spending the night in Pueblo, Colorado.
Day 7 : We will travel to Dodge City and Wichita, Kansas. We will have a Chuckwagon Supper at the Prairie Rose Ranch.
Day 8 : We will travel through Kansas and Missouri, having lunch in Joplin and a stop in Carthage, Missouri to visit the "Precious Moments Park and Chapel". Spending the night in Poplar Bluff.
Day 9: Home to Tennessee
